All of us generally like our groceries and at least limited shopping within 5 miles of our home. I personally like it within 5 minutes. Carillon Lakes is not as close as I like but nonetheless the tradeoff is worth it. Not only is there a Publix and a Target just 3.6 miles to the East (9 min Toll Free) but there is also an Imax theater and many dining locations at Lakeside Village. All more than worth the 3.6 mile journey.

If you are commuting to Tampa you can expect a 30 to 40 minute drive depending on the time of day and traffic flow. That is to downtown. Disney World is a mere 40 to 45 minute drive to the East via Interstate-4.
